Tourist informational plates with QR Codes put up in Sinj
The Town of Sinj Tourist Board has launched a project of the cultural-historical monuments marking, aimed at informing tourists and educating local population about the cultural heritage present in their everyday life. So far 14 informational plates have been put up, bearing the monuments and sights information in both Croatian and English language. QR (quick response) Codes on the plates can be scanned by smartphones, allowing tourists to find out more information about the cultural-historical sights of Sinj in a modern manner that has already been applied in world capitals.
The following have been marked: the Great Bridge, the Accredited Franciscan Classics-Programme Secondary School in Sinj, the Petrovac Fountain, the Danek Villa, the Sanctuary of the Miraculous Madonna of Sinj, At the Spring fountain (Luca), the famous citizens of Sinj (busts in a park next to Šetalište A. Stepinca), the Tripalo Palace, the statue of Father Pavao Vučković, the Three Generations Monument and Gaius Laberius, whereas the Kamičak Fort, the Alka Tournament Course and the Alka Knights Court were marked in August 2012. The project of the erection of the tourist informational plates was financed by the Croatian National Tourist Board, the Town of Sinj and the Town of Sinj Tourist Board.
