It is always especially ceremonial on the feast day of the Assumption of the Madonna in Sinj, one of the biggest Croatian Marian sanctuaries.

The residents of Sinj and numerous pilgrims who celebrate Our Lady of Sinj have been faithful to their protectress and saviour for centuries. Even the Day of the Town of Sinj is celebrated on the same day to show the loyalty.

The Church of the Miraculous Madonna of Sinj is too small to host all the believers during the Novena and Holy Rosary, both morning prayer at 6:00, and evening prayer at 19:00.

On Rosary Vigil to Our Lady of Sinj, the evening before the feast of the Assumption, the Holy Mass is celebrated on Dr. Franjo Tuđman Square. The festive celebration starts at 4:00 with Laud (morning prayer). The procession with the Painting of Our Lady of Sinj and High Mass will be celebrated at 9:00. Endless rows of people are praying on the streets ornamented in honour of Our Lady of Sinj. The canon firings (mačkule) from the Old Town Fortress mark the place of blessing. The fanfares send off and welcome the Painting of Our Lady of Sinj proudly carried on the shoulders of the Alkars, Alka squires, military and civilian representatives, members of associations, priests and nuns.

The Evening Mass is celebrated at 18:00. Thanksgiving Mass at the Old Town is celebrated the following day at 7:00. The blessing of children to Our Lady of Sinj at the Monastery courtyard is on the first Sunday after the feast of the Assumption.
